If you purchased a Twin Turbo Vise and want a jaw kit for it made by Andy, this is for you. You can see exactly what you would receive in this video if you select the Un-Customized option:
If you select the customized option you will be sent a request for some information about your bench so that Andy can also complete the following:
- Cut slots for dogs in the back board of your jaw (only if you want dogs in the jaw) at the locations your request
- Glue the two jaw boards together
- Reduce width to a specific dimension if requested
- Reduce or increase (by gluing on a top board) your jaw height to match your bench thickness
- Drill holes for Inkleind Dog tops, and install Inkleind dog magnets (only if you want dogs in the jaw and have purchased Inkleind Dog Tops)
- Assemble, and install your vise hardware into the jaw, making sure that it passes the friction test
Please keep in mind that if you select this customized option it will require some communication to make sure that Andy has all the information needed to do it right, and will add several weeks of delay as Andy needs to fit the build into his schedule, ideally with several other customized vises to maximize efficiency.
Dimensions
14” Jaw: 24” x 7 1/2”
20” Jaw: 30” x 8 1/2”
24” Jaw: 36” x 9 1/2”
The sides of the jaws can be cut down until they are the same width as the vises if the technique in this video is used: https://youtu.be/KoKtoAc2WMw?si=NYM5VDn2iWO54jau
This gives a minimum width of 17 1/2”, 24” and 29” for the 3 vises
The height of the jaws is large enough that the vise can be bolted to the bottom of up to a 4” thick bench and top of the jaw can then be planned down until it is flush with he bench. If the bench is thicker than 4” then material will need to be added to the top of the jaw to bring it flush with the bench top.
