December 31, 2019
I’m not going to blog very often, but occasionally this format is best for a particular communication, and that feels like the case for Twin Turbo Vise shipping as of Dec 31st 2019. I’ve made a number of videos about how it took me a lot longer to pack up and ship the vises than I anticipated, and as a result I missed the Oct 2019 ship date. My latest YouTube video published in early December described a Thanksgiving push that got me through all but about 120 Kickstarter backers. But since mid-December I’ve been packing but not shipping vises for 2 reasons: Reason 1: I’m out of mounting bars for the 20” and 24” vises. This was a late in the game addition to the design and I thought I’d be further along with my pivot mount by now (take a look at this if you don’t know what I’m talking about): https://www.instagram.com/p/B4wB5UjnxsS/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet The pivot mount makes the mounting bars unnecessary, so I didn’t order 20” and 24” mounting bars for all the vises I sold, thinking people could select one or the other. Reason 2: A bunch of the front plates for the 20” vise were manufactured out of tolerance, see this video to a few of the first shipments that might have received these vises (if you didn’t get an email about this previously then you are in the clear): https://youtu.be/rJMFGzN_Nig So the good news is that both the additional mounting bars and the replacement 20” front plates ship out via air freight this week, so I will have them next week. In the mean time I have been packing up vises but not shipping them, so it won’t take me long to add the missing components to the boxes and get them shipped. So all Kickstarter and most of the early website orders that followed the Kickstarter will ship out by the 3rd week of January. Thanks for your patience and sorry for not communicating this a bit sooner, I should have gotten this message out before the Christmas holiday. But I’m feeling refreshed after a great holiday break with family and ready to get back to it. Happy New Year, Andy
